“Sales Support-Application Engineer”

(Fix employment, full time, Hoegaarden-Belgium)

Our client ATMI-LifeSciences (www.atmi-lifesciences.com) develops and sells single use smart processing and packaging technology solutions that maximize product integrity and enhance process efficiency for its biopharmaceutical customers. They have a vertically integrated manufacturing process in clean room conditions to the highest standards to produce bags and packaging solutions to solve production challenges in these high demanding industries. As such, our client contributes to the cost-efficient production methods of its clients.

Function:

  • You technically support our existing and new customers, sales teams and manufacturing department for mainly new or upgraded products by:
    • preparing and performing demonstrations (with the responsible sales person),
    • doing the system installations, test & start up and assure the validation,
    • giving technical training (both in house as at the customers’ site)
    • and giving feed back to the concerned departments.
    • Besides the technical (mechanical & electrical) aspects, you will also support the colleagues regarding the disposables (e.g. for the application and/or the customization of the bags).
  • You work with customers to develop customer specific applications of our bags & systems for our Newmix™ and Newsafe™ Product lines. You think, together with the customers, about (new) applications, adaptations, trouble shooting & problem solving regarding the ATMI-products. Minor product developments, e.g. new components, might be handled by your self.  Larger product developments will be done by your colleagues of Product Development.
  • You are the liaison between customer & sales and manufacturing & product development.
  • You perform and document on site IQ/OQ (Installation/Operation Qualification) of equipment.
  • You perform in house or on site tests to generate the necessary performance & application data for your customer specific developments.
  • You define the manufacturing process of new products and work with the process engineering & quality department for the validation.
  • You work closely with suppliers for new components (e.g. disposables) & tooling.

Profile:

  • You have a master of sciences degree (ing.) – or bachelor (A1) with relevant experience - in packaging technology, electro-mechanics, electronics or chemistry, …
  • You have a first work experience of ideally min. 3 years.
  • You are client-oriented and have strong communication skills to express confidence in your own ideas and provide training to our customers.
  • You are a good listener. You have a pro-active mentality. You like to go out there and meet new people.
  • You like to think about and cooperate for new developments and applications.
  • You want to understand the processes.
  • You want to know, or are familiar with the quality & validation systems and the processes used in pharma & biotechnology. Writing the test protocols is part (ca. 5%) of the job.
  • You are result-oriented, hands on and you use a systematic approach to technical problem solving.
  • Fluency in English is definitely required, Dutch is very much desired, good knowledge of French and/or German is a plus.
  • You love taking initiative for the challenges waiting for you, you are creative and willing to develop yourself continuously.

  • Trips: 2-3 days per week, mainly in Europe, after a phase of training and in function of the forecasts. But even then: you’re always home for and during the weekends.
