"Project Engineer Equipment Engineering"

Company: Pepsico International is a world leader in manufacturing of beverages and snacks. For the Looza plant in Borgloon (ca. 200 persons) we look for this Project engineer Equipment Engineering.

Main Purpose: Your role will be to lead, direct, plan and coordinate engineering projects for the complete plant production process equipment (installations, production lines and buildings), mainly beverages for the Looza plant in Borgloon, but you will also be asked to cooperate with your colleagues in other plants for specific, mostly larger projects.

You report to: the Technical Service Manager and have a dotted line to the European Engineering team.

Accountabilities:

  • You plan, analyze, validate and defend possible engineering projects on the site (projects budget is approx. 1,5 mio € in 2008).
  • You keep the overview/lead of the projects with regards to cooperation with contractors, infrastructure, supply of project materials, costs and design documents.
  • You are responsible for the product design (you do the conceptual design in close cooperation with the specialists of the supplier) and you check it against engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements and other specifications.
  • You check, take care and are responsible for conformity to safety, hygienic, quality and environmental regulations.
  • Some examples of projects may be: water purification installation, automation of part of a production line, renovations both of production as buildings or utilities, resource (re)conversion projects, etc.
  • You will be responsible for the Capex (capital expenditure) request.
  • You lead and supervise the colleagues (maintenance, engineering, technical service) involved in your projects.

Experience required:

  • Min. 3-5 years experience with technical engineering projects in a mass production manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding the pressure of a manufacturing environment and their production lines with regards to speed and efficiency.
  • Food processing experience is an important plus.

  • Setting priorities (since a lot of different projects are running at the same time).

Educational requirements:

  • Master (or Bachelor, A1, with the relevant experience and extra pluses) of Science in Applied Engineering (ing.).
  • Knowledge of or experience with HACCP is a plus.
  • CAD-system is a plus.

Languages:

  • Fluent Dutch and English, both orally as in writing, are definitely required!
  • French and/or German are extra pluses.

Extra information:

  • Sometimes you will perform trips to other production plants of Pepsico International (mainly in Europe: France, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium-Zeebrugge, etc.) for larger projects. The first year however this will be less important, but as from the second year this may go up till 20-25% of your time. But you will always be home in the weekends.
