"Design Manager – Industrial Filtration"
(Fix job, full time, Haasrode (near Leuven) – Belgium)

Responsibilities, tasks & content of the job:
- Member of the Department “Industrial Filter Solutions”, the Design Manager is responsible for the design of the metal casing for industrial air filters (standard units, OEM, specific requirements).
- The main responsibilities are:
- to meet required specifications/legislation,
- being fully documented in all aspects and
- being in full control of his/her products in order to face the growth on short and long term.
- The job content is:
- to plan, organize, direct and manage all product related aspects of new product design,
- implement and release the engineering changes and
- control costs and assure quality.
- The Design Manager supervises the design/drafting team of 5 people. For special products, he/she performs the structural design and necessary calculations him/herself.
- The Design Manager reports to the Product Line Manager.
Personality, mentality & competencies:
- We expect someone with:
- excellent communication skills (e.g. with Product Development, Manufacturing, customers, lab in UK, suppliers etc)
- real leadership qualities: clearly and transparent
- quality minded with eye for detail: drawings must be perfect!
- very well structured and professional way of working
- assertive in a diplomatic and polite way, convincing
- balanced, keeping overview, setting priorities, stress resistant, committed
- sense of perspective.
Working experience and other:
- We are looking for:
- an engineering degree or equivalent by experience
- minimum 5 years of experience with technical design of metal constructions or related
- experienced with design principles, CAD (Unigraphics is a plus) & CAE tools, manufacturing techniques
- understanding of dust control (as a plus)
- commercial awareness and the ability to apply this to product design to deliver business goals
- affinity with controllers (as a plus)
- excellent communication skills in English is required; German is a plus.
- Travel: approximately 1 trip of 2-3 days a month, mainly in Europe (manufacturing of the designed casing is in CZ) and sometimes also to the USA.
- Future perspectives: large company, several possibilities.
